Virtual tour and educational applications
On Sunday, October 3 1926, the first Thessaloniki International Fair was inaugurated at the Field of Ares. The first TIF covered an area of 7,000 square metres. But within a few years, the original premises were already confined, so even before World War II, a move was decided. The new premises were where the TIF takes place until today, between the avenues of Egnatia, September 3, Stratou and Aggelaki.
What were the original area and pavilions like in the 1920s? What did the TIF buildings look like in 1958 and which of them still remain today?
Learn about the rich history of the TIF through the virtual tour and audiovisual narration.

In 1949, with the implementation of the Marshall Plan, efforts began to reopen the TIF. Over the next two decades, TIF charts a course of exponential growth and distinct glamour.
